This note is very similar to P35. The only difference being the printer. P19 was printed by Thomas De La Rue and Company. P35 was printed by Harrison and Son Ltd.


Front: Chinese lion with ball and Commerson's Anchovy at right, arms at upper left. Twkow boats. Singapore written in the 4 official languages English, Malay, Chinese (Mandarin) and Tamil on top.

Back: Fish on left. Flower in middle. View of the PSA container terminal at right. Symbol of the Merlion on upper right. The merlion is a mythical creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish. It is used as a mascot of Singapore. The fish body represents Singapore's origin as a fishing village when it was called Tamasek meaning sea town in Javenese. The lion represents Singapore's original name of Singapura meaning lion city.
